This talk give and in-depth review about what is known scientifically about leptin resistance and its causes. For our simple guide to Leptin and Leptin resistance, click here.
Leptin is the primary hormonal regulator of body fatness. Obese people exhibit a resistance to leptin’s effects in the brain, causing the brain to try and stop us losing fat. Research in animals suggests that leptin resistance may be required for obesity to develop.
Leptin resistance is known to be more of a problem for women's weight loss, so how does leptin resistance occur, and what causes it? Research has not yet provided us with definitive answers, but several plausible possibilities have emerged.
