I'm Kate Woollands and I'm a hypnotherapist based near London in the UK.
Before I became a hypnotherapist I was a personal trainer, so weight loss has been one of the problems I've had to deal with for a long time, although it wasn't until I passed 40 that it became a much more personal issue for me!
Weight loss is the second most common thing that people come to me with help for. Sometimes it's hard to listen to the devastating effects being overweight causes – chronic lack of confidence and low self esteem, feeling like you're being judged every time you eat in a public place. The loneliness and isolation caused by difficulty in meeting that special someone.
One common complaint is that if you're overweight it is difficult to buy exercise clothes which fit and look OK. And not everyone wants to go to the gym or to an exercise class and have your wobbly bits on display.
There is no easy fix. I'd love to be able to hypnotise everyone who came to me and they would be magically thinner, but unfortunately it just doesn't work like that. Hypnosis can help with motivation (and chocolate cravings!) but at the end of the day what you eat is the key factor in losing weight and keeping it off.
We’ve all had the experience of going on a diet. Feeling tired, hungry and demoralized as the scales show no difference after weeks of trying really hard to eat the right things. But what exactly are the right things? And how much exercise should we take?
With all the information out there it’s difficult to work out what to do. Many different opinions, every day a new story in the media.
The thing is, everyone is different. Body shape, metabolism, health and the support of family and friends all play an important part in helping us lose weight and keep it off.
So to help you lose weight in a way which suits your particular circumstances, I've reviewed some of the top weight loss plans, the best exercise programs and shared some of the most effective tips my patients have tested out to help make your weight loss journey as quick and easy as possible.
